Three Blue Jumpers

So it’s been a while. one day I’ll start a post without saying that. It only took a viral pandemic would get me back to blogging here. I shan’t be dwelling on Covid 19 here. There are plenty of thoughts on the matter over on my other page, Today I Wrote. I hope to startContinue reading “Three Blue Jumpers”

May Is Here And I’ve Got New Makes

I’m getting over a chest infection so the start of ‘Me Made May’ passed me by. I’m jumping on the bandwagon a few days late. For those of you who don’t know MMMay is an annual endeavour in which sewers make an effort to wear and love their handmade clothes. I’m planning to wear at least one make everyContinue reading “May Is Here And I’ve Got New Makes”

Fun With Quilts!

Sooooo…it’s been a little manic for the past, let’s say, month? Hospital trips, holidays, a severe asthma attack, and a hen weekend. You know it’s been a lot. However, in-between the madness, I have been pretty creative. I am super proud of this quilt I’ve been making for my little sister. It’s a little different to a normalContinue reading “Fun With Quilts!”

My Makes…

Things are not perfect. However, I am now able to gather enough focus and energy to write this post. Last time I wrote about obsessively making things in order to avoid negative thoughts. I’m not quite comfortable having photos taken, that will have to wait for later posts. This is the first time I everContinue reading “My Makes…”

An Illusion Of Control

I’m shutting myself off again. Pushing through days, focusing on minutia and ignoring my emotions. There are many ways in which I isolate myself.  Over the past couple day’s my method has been sewing. I finished a tricky viscose top and made two pairs of sleep shorts. These projects have filled my mind, taken focus and concentration.Continue reading “An Illusion Of Control”

Mollie Makes And Experimenting With Patterns

Yesterday I ran a charity day for Wrap Pyjama Fairies. Together with managed to make eight pairs of pyjamas for kids who are having treatment in hospital. It was fantastic but absolutely manic!  The heat did not help! Here we all are after a very busy, fun, day! If you want to find out more checkContinue reading “Mollie Makes And Experimenting With Patterns”

When things go wrong

It’s been  a tough couple of weeks. I’ve coped with it by closing in on myself. Isolation is my go-to defense mechanism. As such blogging has been on the light side.  Writing posts ensures I look outside my own shrinking world and gain a little perspective.  Things have settled down a little now and I’m ready toContinue reading “When things go wrong”

Very much enjoying wearing clothes I made

I was a little sceptical about Me Made May, I’m fairly new to making my own clothes. I worried about putting too much pressure on myself.  In reality it’s been really fun. I’ve enjoyed thinking about my outfits instead of throwing on whatever’s handy.  I do not have nearly enough clothes to wear something newContinue reading “Very much enjoying wearing clothes I made”

Small Stitches

Recently I discovered this wonderful charity called Wrap Pyjama Fairies. They supplies cute pyjama’s for children and babies who have to stay in hospital. I tried my hand at a new born gown, thinking as it was my first try I’d use less material. What I didn’t think about was how fiddly a new born gown garmentContinue reading “Small Stitches”
